List of Textbooks and Teaching Materials

The STL Law Library endeavors to purchase one copy of each required textbook to help students with immediate needs for required books. The textbook collection is not intended to replace students’ individual purchases of course texts. Preference is for online format. Textbook purchases go through an import/export company and certain titles may be restricted.

The following rules apply to the collection:

Unfortunately, the library does not have funds to purchase textbook copies for faculty. Faculty are encouraged to contact the publisher directly for a complimentary review copy.  Major textbook publishers include:

• Aspen Publishing
• Carolina Academic Press
• West Academic Publishing

Open access textbooks are becoming more prevalent in the legal field and topical coverage is expanding. Benefits include: cost savings, quick access, and customization and flexibility.  The main legal publishers include:

• CALI's eLangdell Press
• Harvard's H2O Casebook Collection
• Open Textbook Library
• Grimmelman's Inexpensive and Open-Access Casebooks
